Our Counsellors

Meet the compassionate and experienced team of counsellors at MISA, ready to provide essential guidance and support for your mental well-being.

When booking a counsellor, consider

  • if you prefer a male or female counsellor,
  • the issue you want to talk about,
  • any skills you think you would like to develop to address that issue,
  • times and days you are available to see a counsellor.

Blake

I chose to become a counsellor because of my own adverse life experiences and personal challenges, which lead me to see the importance of having a strong network of support. Being lucky enough to help others develop healthier patterns of thought and behaviour is something I am very passionate about.

Scott

I’ve been a fulltime professional counsellor for 16 years. I began my working career as an apprentice and tradesman and completed university and postgraduate studies as a mature age student. I am here to support families, men, women, and young people as individuals or within the family context.

    Heath

I integrate research-informed strategies with ethical, client-centred care, drawing on my background on trade sites and extensive work with men in diverse contexts. With a grounded, pragmatic stance, I supports individuals navigating identity, emotional regulation, and personal growth challenges, applying unconditional positive regard, congruence, and empathy within a neuroscientific framework to encourage lasting well-being.

      MJ

I am privileged in my work to witness the brave steps people take in the face of hard times and am constantly inspired by their resilience and ability to draw on knowledge and resources to navigate challenges and re-write their stories. My goal is to provide a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to create positive change in their lives

        Brian

I strive to create a safe environment to facilitate change in the lives of people of all ages, cultures and orientations. Besides therapy skills, I bring extensive people relations and career development experience gained in the international business domain to enhance my therapeutic approach. I have experience supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, career challenges and other life transitions. Using an integrative approach, I work with individuals and couples in developing their self – awareness, coping, resilience, and interpersonal skills to find happiness, meaning and fulfilment in their lives and relationships.

          Ben

I work with people to slow things down and make sense of what’s really going on for them. When life events happen, when life feels out of sync or something just doesn’t feel right, my role is to walk alongside you and help you figure it out in a way that feels practical, honest, and at your pace.

Sessions are a safe, judgement-free space where you don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan. We focus on what matters to you, where things feel off, and what you want more or less of. I won’t tell you what to do, instead, we work together to help you understand yourself better and draw on your own strengths to create change.

I bring a down-to-earth, genuine approach to counselling and believe that with the right space, support, and clarity, people have the capacity to do things differently

            Angie

As a holistic counsellor, I follow the biopsychosocial model of mental health. I believe in helping you find your way back to good mental health by understanding how all parts of your life contribute to your sense of well-being. In my practice, I use a mix of approaches that are person-centred and trauma-informed, incorporating evidence-based therapies like Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Therapy, CBT, and Interpersonal Therapy.
